Who Founded YouTube?

BFF on pause

Dear friends of BFF:

I have been much too busy with family and work to spend any time on turning bowls or even listing and shipping other people’s bowls. I wish I could say that hunger has been solved, but it is probably going to get worse over the next few months for a wide variety of reasons. My hope is to be back turning bowls in the fall, and encouraging everyone to donate to their local food bank. In the meantime, know that hunger is never far away. It is in your schools, your neighborhoods and your workplaces. Just as close, though, are organizations who are trying to help. Please keep supporting them however you can.

More bowls plus another auction

There will be 17 bowls made available for adoption on Monday, April 25th. Six of them are by BFF founder Michael Mittelman, and the other 11 are by guest turner Dan Crafton. The time is a secret so that this website doesn’t crash from all the enthusiasm. Prices range from $60 to $225.

If you are impatient, or just want to know that you got your bowl, you can bid on the bowl up for auction. The auction ends Monday, so good luck and happy bidding.

Bowls for Food is having its first auction! In addition to our usual system of listing bowls on a first come, first served basis, we have a beautiful cherry burl bowl available to the highest bidder. As usual, payment is in the form of a receipt for a donation to a food bank or food pantry.

$30k in donations reached!

Thanks to all the generous donors we have now generated over $30,000 in donations to local food banks from bowls. This is exclusive of the over $5,000 in other donations in honor of Bowls for Food. Wow! Thanks also to the guest turners who gave their work to the last batch which generated over $2,500. They are boxed up and will be shipping shortly.
